ARNA’s Newest Sponsor: Mongolia State University of Education 

On May 24th,  2014, the Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) leadership announced that Mongolian State University of Education (MSUE) has become the newest sponsoring partner. Dr. Candace Kaye, a member of the ARNA Coordinating Group and professor of education at New Mexico State University, brought the news to the May 22-24 ARNA conference at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Candace had just returned from a visit to MSUE, where she has been collaborating on the development of teacher research in Mongolian schools both in Ulaanbaatar, the only city in Mongolia, and in rural areas of Mongolia. ARNA and MSUE will now begin planning for collaborations in support of educator preparation and practitioner research. Beginning initiatives announced by professor Kaye will focus on the further development of early childhood education in Mongolia with the potential development of a lab school as an action research project, the infusion of practitioner research training in the preparation of educators, and the initiation of  action research graduate programs at both the master’s and doctoral level at MSUE. ARNA member Dr. Mina Kim, an Associate Professor at San Francisco State University, also will be involved in these initiatives.  Read more …
